Write a Blog Post

Every website owner’s topmost priority must be superlative webpage content.  Search engines love this, site visitors love this, a win:win for everybody. Creating superlative content is definitely not rocket science. Passion, domain knowledge and a pinch of common sense is all it takes for you to craft superlative content for your webpages.

Superlative content being content that adds a great deal of value (very informative / educative) to the site visitor. Here are a set of tried and tested Blogging tips, which if followed almost always produces superlative Blog post content.

Ensure That You Are Intimate With The Topic Of The Blog Post

Authority Bloggers know that it’s impossible to write an attention arresting Blog post unless you are really
intimate with the topic of the Blog post. A simple start to getting intimate with your Blog post content and
only then crafting a great Blog post is to read as much as you can on the topic you want to Blog on, then read some more.

While reading stuff in your Browser, make it a habit to jot down key points mapped to the content
that you are reading. You can use pencil and paper although I recommend using either Word or Notepad or your favorite editor.

Jotting down can mean a copy / paste of large sections of really interesting content from the webpage you are reading into Notepad, to writing down details of concepts as you’ve understood them in your very own words. Do whatever works best for you.

When you are researching / learning a topic the combination approach of reading and making notes helps most people understand what they are reading. If you’ve thoroughly understood what you are reading you’ve become intimate with the topic. Once you are intimate with a topic you are ready to create a Blog post that would be valuable to site visitors.

Know The Audience You Are Writing For

Most website owners will agree that it is really important to know your site visitor demographics.

You need craft the Blog post content based on the language and style of your site visitors. Even if your visitor demographics indicate that most of them are either graduates or post-graduates, write your Blog post content in a language that is as simple and clear as possible.

If your Blog post is simply and clearly written, without the use of hyperbole or jargon, the Blog post normally gets shared a lot more.

Solve A Problem

The best Blog post content (i.e. most read and shared) are those that clearly state a problem name as their title (this draws the site visitors in) offers a clear workable solution to the problem in its content.

Any Blog post that offers a simple, proven solution for site visitors is always viewed as great value add.
Very likely the site visitors would forward the link to the Blog post to at least a couple of friends who may be facing the very same problem.  This is just great for in-bound traffic that spends some time on your website.

In-bound traffic that ramps up and spends time on your website tells search engines that your website content is of value.

Research And Use Appropriate Keywords In Blog Content

Once you’ve created your weekly / monthly / quarterly Blog post list, (i.e. a list of topics you want to Blog on and their release pattern on website), then spend some time in Google researching the kind of keywords people are using to find the type of Blog post content that you are planning to write.

Use an XL spread sheet and document these keywords (mapped to a topic) so that you have them readily at hand and can judiciously blend them into the Blog post content that you are creating.

You must have appropriate keywords in your Blog post content. You must have Keywords specified as Tags and mapped to each Blog post. Both are crucial to having your Blog posts found by search engines. In turn this is crucial for site visitors using organic search to locate content important to them.

Creating Blog post content that is valuable to site visitors and easily found by them requires a lot of meticulous planning and then execution.

Surf Forums And Q&A Sites Related To Your Topics

One good place to for you to surf to identify problem areas that you can contribute to are Forums and Q&A sites associated with your Blog post topics.

You could scan Yahoo Answers, to read the solutions provided that are mapped to your topics, if you have a better answer, or if you can explain the answer more lucidly, great you’ve a got a topic that you can Blog on.

NOTE: If you are going to answer and leave a link back to your Blog post, be a tad careful as some Admins consider this as SPAM posts.  However, if you are adding measurable value to their Blogsite visitors then they usually accept this happily.

Research What Others Are Writing On Related To Your Topics

Once your topics are chosen, do read what other Bloggers are saying about the same topic. Identify what they may have missed. If some industry expert writes something that you for which you have a different point of view then create your Blog post and let everyone know.

Alternatively, if you discover that too many Bloggers have already written exhaustively on the same topic perhaps consider discarding that topic and replacing it with another one.
