Content Quality Does Matter
Clearly conceptualize the type of reader who visits your site. Then write for that site visitor. Ensure that the site visitor quickly recognizes that the site content is adding value to them.
When crafting your content pay careful attention to, spellings and grammar. Most editors help at least in identifying spelling mistakes.
Some editors like M.S. Word help in identifying and helping fix grammar errors as well.
Even information packed content, immediately becomes insipid when it contains multiple spelling and/or grammar mistakes.
Structure you content in crisp, well written paragraphs. Let each subsequent paragraph build upon the preceding paragraph. Let paragraph content flow logically.
Sprinkle great paragraph headlines in between.
This is the kind of content that is liked, linked to and shared by website readers.
Ideal content length is between 500 to 1500 words.
If a much greater number of words are necessary, perhaps to explore a topic thoroughly, then consider breaking the topic up into parts, i.e. Part 1, Part 2 and so on.
It’s a good idea to ensure that you sprinkle keywords within the Blog post / article content as naturally as is possible.
It’s a bad idea to have what appears to be a contrived sentence within content, just because a few keywords can be squeezed in.
Stay On Topic And Get To The Point Smartly
It’s pretty easy to drift off topic when creating content.
This results in the existence of paragraphs seemingly unrelated to the core focus of the article or Blog post.
Even if the topic you are writing an article or Blog post on, warrants a 600page book, as an Internet writer, you have to keep things short, crisp and to the point.
Website visitors are normally looking for information. Hence, it is vital that the website provides content that is interesting and educational to the reader.
This helps keep the reader on your website for a longer period of time, which increases the chance that the site visitor will click on those areas of your website that generates income for you.
Use Keywords Within Content
There are two distinct types of site visitors you are writing for when creating content.
1. The site visitor
2. Search engine robots
Each type of site visitor has a different agenda for visiting the website.
The site visitor is normally looking for information and wants to be educated in some way or the other.
The Search engine robot is looking for – Keywords.
This is because Search engine robots use Keywords within your website content to help them file such information away correctly.
Only then can the search engine deliver your webpage correctly to anyone who is searching the Internet for the specific kind of information that your webpage delivers.
Hence ensure that there is a generous amount of Keywords sprinkled within your content.
To prevent being penalized for Keyword stuffing by Search engines do ensure that the number of Keywords, naturally placed within your content, does not exceed 2% to 3% on the content.
Use the H1, H2, H3 Tags Sensibly Within Content
Use the H1, H2, H3 [ Headline and Sub Headline tags ] sensibly within content.
The use of these HTML tags helps a Search engine understand that the content is well structured and professional.
This does get your content a better ranking in Search engines.
Be sure to include keywords or keyword phrases within such heading tags if their inclusion does not disturb the natural flow of the content.
Write Genuine Content
The content must be fresh and original. Search engines can and do punish websites that publish thinly veiled, duplicate content, which has been lifted from another website.
Resist the temptation to copy content and pass that off as your original content. Search engines today are pretty accurate at identifying duplicate content on the Internet.
This can and will get the website penalized within Search engine result pages.
Use Images Within Content
Having relevant, eye catching images, within an article or Blog post grabs the reader’s attention.
Having said that do ensure that the images used are free of copyright infringements.
The Importance Of Your Biography
Your biography is great opportunity to tell the site visitor just why they should be reading your site content.
Tell them a little bit about yourself. This goes a long way in building your personal brand on the Internet.
Do throw in a keyword or two in your biography if possible.
